Good Morning!
How are you today? Are you feeling chipper or does life have you by the tail?
I admittedly did not start the day off with the best attitude. It’s finally sunny, warm and the birds are singing, so what’s my deal? I think we all find ourselves in this situation from time to time. The world is beckoning with positivity, and yet we sit in a rut feeling miserable about circumstances beyond our control.
But you know what? That’s not the end of the story. That’s not “All she wrote”. I believe that no matter what I am faced with, I always have a choice. I can choose my attitude. I can choose the way I deal. There is power in that. I can choose my coping mechanisms, if I believe I can.
Will I bring others down with me today to my level of misery, or use the power I have over my emotional well-being and build up those around me?
Depressed or productive?
Happy or sad?
Grateful or wallowing?
There is always something difficult to deal with, and I will always find myself confronted with some set of unforeseen stressors. Will I succumb to the pressures of life and project a negative and miserable attitude, or rise above and work to have a grateful attitude.
In a nutshell, this is my philosophy. Sorrow and grief are part of life, but living is part of life too. Really living means seeing a greater, broader, more beautiful world beyond myself, and making the most of my abilities to leave it a better place than I found it. Real change in the way we approach our lives doesn’t happen overnight, but there is never a better time to start.
Happy Friday 😉
