The Original idea for the 2012 card was a spin-off of the gingerbread man scene from the Katy Perry ‘California Gurls’ video.  I loved the magical candy land concept.  He-Man was a favorite of Brian’s growing up, and I’ve became well-acquainted with the series and Skeletor’s  hilarious antics over the past few years.  After watching the He-Man and Shera Christmas Special a couple times last year, I was convinced that we should recreate our own Christmasy Eternia.

This is the most labor intensive card we’ve done.  I photographed all of the elements separately, and brought them together in Photoshop.  I also wound up making swords and a costume for Brian.  The ‘candy land’ element was the most fun part to create.  If you couldn’t already tell, I am totally a kid at heart and I love to play with food.  Gingerbread Castle Grayskull is definitely my favorite part of the card.  I kept adding frosting and powdered sugar as I snapped the photos and wound up loving it looking ridiculously snowy.  I think our kitchen table was probably still sticky several washings later after all the sugar I used. 😉

Happy almost Christmas Eve Day Eve!
